The search for the perfect combination of technology and sustainability is one of the most topical issues, not only in the packaging industry.
However, it is precisely in our industry that new, decidedly green research, projects and products are being developed.
Recycling, biodegradability, sustainability and low environmental impact are the keywords of the near-future development of the packaging industry.
And we at Steba are at the forefront: looking for the right new product for you. And for the planet. For example: bottles, tubes, jars and capsules made from plant-based plastics.
Of particular interest are the so-called biopolymers, derived from sugars: polymer products made from the bio-oil derived from sugarcane, suitable for producing 100% renewable hoses and bottles. This production process makes use of the polymerization of ‘green’ ethylene, produced by dehydration and purification of bioethanol extracted from sugarcane (instead of naphtha extracted from petroleum). The result? A product from renewable sources (with a very low carbon footprint) that, however, unlike cornstarch derivatives, for example, is insoluble in water and resistant to external agents (UV, oxygen and solvents).
A great green solution for cosmetic packaging.
